Privacy Policy
Last Updated: August 10th, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Linkmesh ("we," "us," "our," or "the Platform") collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use our link-in-bio service, including our website, public profile pages, and related services (collectively, the "Service").
By using the Service, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Who We Are
Linkmesh is the data controller responsible for your personal data. If you have questions about this policy, contact us at:
- Email: support@linkme.sh
- Address: 201, Gaurav Plaza, RRT Road, Mulund - West, Mumbai - 400 080
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide Directly
When you create and use your account, we collect the email address and hashed password you register with, which we use for account creation, login, and email verification. We also collect the profile information you add to build your public page, such as your title, bio, profile photo, and background color, along with the link data you add to power your link-in-bio page, including URLs, labels, icons, and their order. If you subscribe to a paid plan, we collect payment and billing details to process your subscription via RazorPay (see Section 7). If you contact us for support, we collect the details of your support request in order to resolve it.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
We also collect certain information automatically as you use the Service. This includes click events, which we use to provide click analytics to account owners, and referrer information, which we use for top-referrer analytics. We collect IP addresses for fraud and bot prevention and to de-duplicate unique clicks, and device/browser type and user agent for basic diagnostics and analytics. We also use cookies and similar technologies, as described in Section 3.
We do not collect precise geolocation or generate click heatmaps in the current version of the Service.
3. Cookies and Similar Tracking Technologies
We use cookies, local storage, and similar tracking technologies to operate and improve the Service.
3.1 Types of Cookies We Use
We use strictly necessary cookies, such as session and authentication cookies, which are required for login sessions, security, and core site functionality. We use functional cookies to remember your preferences, such as page settings. We use analytics cookies, including click-tracking identifiers, to measure link clicks, unique visitors, and referrers. We also use payment cookies, such as RazorPay session cookies, to enable secure checkout via RazorPay.
3.2 Legal Basis for Using Cookies
The laws that govern our use of cookies, and the legal basis we rely on, include:
- Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011, which govern the collection and handling of personal data by entities in India, including data collected through cookies and tracking technologies.
- Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act), which requires that personal data (including data linked to identifiers such as cookies) be processed only with the user’s consent or for a specified “legitimate use,” and requires clear, itemized notice of what is collected and why before consent is taken.
In practice, this means:
- Strictly necessary cookies are used without asking for consent, since the Service cannot function without them.
- Analytics and non-essential cookies are only set after you provide consent via our cookie banner, in line with the DPDP Act’s consent requirements.
- You can withdraw consent at any time via your cookie settings or your browser settings, and withdrawal is as easy as giving consent, as required under the DPDP Act.
3.3 Managing Cookies
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking cookies may affect functionality (e.g., staying logged in, accurate analytics).
4. How We Use Your Information
We use collected information to:
- Create and maintain your account and public link page
- Render your public profile page
- Provide click analytics (click counts, daily unique clicks, top referrers)
- Process payments and manage subscriptions
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or bot traffic
- Send transactional emails (verification, billing, support)
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
5. Public Nature of Your Link Page
Your link page (title, bio, profile photo, links) is public by design and accessible to anyone with the URL. This means your page may also appear in search engine results (e.g., Google) or be surfaced by AI tools and chatbots that crawl public web content. Do not include sensitive personal information on your public page that you do not want publicly visible or discoverable in this way.
6. Links to Third-Party Websites
Your link page may contain links to third-party websites, stores, or content that you choose to add. We do not control, and are not responsible for, the privacy practices of these third-party destinations. Once you click a link and leave the Service, that third party’s own privacy policy governs how your information is handled. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any external site you visit through a linkme.sh page.
7. Third-Party Service Providers
We share limited data with trusted third parties strictly to operate the Service:
| Provider | Purpose | Data Shared |
|---|---|---|
| RazorPay | Payment processing for paid subscriptions | Name, email, payment details (RazorPay’s own privacy policy governs how they handle payment data) |
We require these providers to protect your data and use it only for the purposes we specify.
8. Your Rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the right to:
- Access a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how it is processed
- Correct, complete, or update inaccurate or outdated data
- Request erasure of your personal data (unless we are required to retain it by law)
- Withdraw consent at any time, as easily as you gave it
- Nominate another individual to exercise your rights on your behalf in the event of death or incapacity
- Register a grievance with us regarding how your data is handled
To exercise these rights, contact us at support@linkme.sh. We will respond within the timeframe required under the DPDP Act.
Account Deletion
You can request to permanently delete your Linkmesh account and any public profile pages associated with it by reaching out to us at support@linkme.sh. Deleting your account will remove your profile information and all your pages from the Service, subject to limited retention as described in Section 9 below.
9. Data Retention
We retain account and analytics data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data after verification, except where retention is required for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention purposes.
10. Data Security
We use industry-standard measures (encryption in transit, hashed passwords, access controls) to protect your data. No system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Children’s Privacy
Under the DPDP Act, a “child” is anyone under 18 years of age. The Service is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18 without verifiable parental/guardian consent. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
12. International Data Transfers
Under the DPDP Act, we may transfer your personal data outside India (e.g., for hosting or third-party processing), except to countries restricted by the Central Government. Where data is transferred outside India, we take steps to ensure it remains protected consistent with this policy and applicable law.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified via email or a notice on the Service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
